Dear unknown geek,

i am working on my own PzG:Airborne module right now and would like to see yours. Maybe we could combine our work and release it for play. So, anyone working on a module lately ? Please contact me,

Cheers,

Gerald

Now that's where things get tricky. Avalanche Press used to defend their intelectual property with teeth and claw, and have always been hostile to any talk of releasing any Vassal/Cyberboard module for any of their games. Has this changed recently?

Anyway, I think you're allowed by them to create and use your own module (since that would mean one owns the game)... you just can't release it into the wild. If you're ever in need of a playtester/opponent, drop me a line. I've been wanting to play this one for months now.

Yes and No. I contacted AP, to ask about getting the PzG:Airborne module official. AP authorized me, to use this one (and only this one - Panzer Grenadier: Airborne) for building a VASSAL module. The deal is: Just Panzer Grenadier: Airborne - no other AP games. I do not intend to to bring more than this into a VASSAL module. I think this is the right way for AP to go, because Airborne is a cheap intro for people willing to play the PzG series. Both sides could benefit from this: gamers, looking for a possibility to play online *AND* AP.

I already posted "my" simple module on the Panzer Grenadier Yahoo Group ( -> http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/panzer_grenadier/ ), but i feel "my" module is just too simple. So, i want to improve it and as recommended by some guys on the Yahoo Group i am now looking for people who already built such a module for private use. I want to see some other modules and maybe merge them, or at least take some structural work (if they allow this) from them.

There is still ongoing discussion on the Yahoo Group and also readable the authorization by Liz Fulda, VP of AP. If you need further info, please contact me. Maybe, you have a module ready , you want to share ?

Holy ****!

That's wonderful news, Gerald! Many thanks for all that you've already done, then!! Maybe this will drive up the sales for the PG line noticebly, and AP and Liz will see the light and allow Great War at Sea modules too! Woohoo!

I have no PG module hidden up my sleeve, sorry, but I look forward to trying out your own. If it has the map(s) and the counters, hey, that's good enough for me! :-)

I updated the module again - to Version 1.0.8. Download at: http://www.uninvited.de/pzg/

*** What changed from version 1.0.0 to 1.0.8 ? ***

(1) Added Terrain Effects Chart, Assault Combat Chart, Bombardment
Table, Direct Fire Table. (" CHARTS ")

(2) Added a simple Turn counter (" TURNS ")

(3) Corrected die roll buttons ( " 1D6 " , " 2D6 ")

(4) Added Step Loss area ( " DEAD UNITS "). If units get elimated put
them onto the Step Loss area by drag & drop.

(5) Added Access restriction on counters. German units can be placed,
moved and removed by German side, American units can be placed, moved
and removed by American side. Solitaire player can access both.

(6) Added German Offboard Artillery and American Offboard Artillery -
you can find these in ( " UNITS "). If you want to use artillery move
them onto the stack you wish to fire upon, do your die roll(s) and
then remove the OBA markers by right click - Remove Artillery Target.

*** What is still missing ? ***

(1) Extensive reporting of what happens on which action. Right now
only die roll with 1D6 and 2D6 produce information on whats going on.
Both players have to keep up on their own. I am going to change this
in the next version.

(2) Randomizer for drawing German Strongpoints & Leader counters. I am
going to change this in the next version. This is the biggest issue so
far. A lot of requests on that. I still did not manage to find out,
how i can handle this in VASSAL. Sorry.

(3) Starting locations & Target locations markers. I am going to
change this in one of the next versions.

*** How can you help to improve the module ? ***

(1) Download and playtest the module. Best practice: talk with your
opponent via Skype or similar while you play.

(2) Report any trouble or improvements which could be made.

(3) Produce markers for Starting locations & Target locations. I
prefer markers in size 120x120 pixels, PNG file format. Contact me for
more specific information.

(4) Produce scenarios. I avoided using pre-defined scenarios. File
size of the module might get to big. If you create some scenarios,
please let me know. Maybe we could offer them as additional downloads
in the FILES section.
