I read this was somewhere in the forums, but I can't find it. What is it, that the Welsh get a leader (Cadwallon) in turn 8, or 9? Or maybve turns 8 and 9?

Yes, in R8. At this point, if I could make one change in the rules I think I would add this leader for the Welsh.

Round 8. Interesting. In round 8 on the Welsh turn York will probably be occupied by the Angles, because they scored it in round 7. Occupation of York in round 8 thus implies a fight with the Angles. By round 9, the Angles may have evacuated York to let the Welsh through, depending on negotiations.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cadwallon_ap_Cadfan

according to Bede, Cadwallon ruled over the "provinces of the Northumbrians" for a year, "not like a victorious king, but like a rapacious and bloody tyrant."

Cadwallon nearly made it into FFG Brit, and is in the new edition Epic Britannia.
