There is a new Composite Rules document and a new FAQ document on the Doomtown Rules webpage.

A notable change is the revision of the Movin' Rules:

Composite Rules v. 2 wrote:
As a Noon play you can move one of your unbooted dudes to any other location in play (a
deed, a home, or the town square), regardless of how far away that location is, or whether
or not it’s adjacent. This movement boots a dude, unless you’re making one of the following
two special moves:

1. A dude can move from their own home to an adjacent location without booting.
Locations adjacent to your home are typically the town square and the deeds either side of
your home, but could include other locations as indicated by card effects.

2. A dude can move from the town square to any adjacent location except their own
home without booting. This typically includes all in-town deeds and other players homes,
but again may include other locations if instructed by other cards.

The change here is in point number 2. The original wording was:

Doomtown Rulebook and Composite Rules v. 1 wrote:
2. A dude can move from the town square to an in-town deed or to another player’s
home (but not to the controlling player’s own home) without booting.

(Doomtown Rulebook)
(Composite Rules v. 1)

This change no longer allows Dudes to move from the Town Square to an in-town deed that is not adjacent to the Town Square (ie, Maza Gang Hideout).

People are stupid; they can only rarely tell the difference between a lie and the truth, and yet they are confident they can, and so are all the easier to fool.

Until Maza Gang came out and the discussion that followed I thought this was how movement worked from the beginning. Maza Gang just got a lot better.

This is how the rules were intended to work. The issue was loose drafting in the initial rules. The loose drafting is getting cleaned up, but it is a process. It will take time.
