This will finally scientifically determine the best game of all time. No more whinging after this poll is completed.

Poll

Poll created by skutsch

(The titles were chosen via a statistically sound selection of top category winners and a physics endorsed scientifically accurate dart board. It's all science here boys and girls, trust me.)

Ugh. Why does their even have to be "a best game?" I realize this is a sarcastic poll, I guess, but really, the best game for who, for what circumstance, for the best mechanics in gameplay, what?

I will vote for chess since it seems to have the most replayability and more people play it all over the world than anything else (I think, maybe Go or some other games might rival it?)

I don't even like chess.

It isn't right for me to evaluate a game I haven't played.

So... I vote Codenames because it is the only one on the list I've actually played.

Can I whine about people who misspell whining? (Unless you're secretly British and that's why you're not using the American spelling.)

You can whinge all you want but it won't change the spelling.

The spelling was a deliberate choice. I usually use 'whining' but it always looked sad after I typed it so this time I decided to go Brit. Whinging just seems so much cooler. I may soon start to type 'colour' and call my cookies biscuits. Mwhahahahahaha (that was said with a British accent).

You mean stop calling your biscuits cookies and then for advanced learners you can sort out the meaning of chips

Whinging/Whingeing is an entirely different word (the g is pronounced) - British English is so rich that we can both whinge and whine, frequently at the same time.

I can't answer this question.

Terra Mystica, Mage Knight and Codenames are all candidates for me, but it's like asking which is the best tool, a hammer, a screwdriver or a drill. The answer really depends on what you want to do at that moment. A hammer is a horrible tool if you're trying to put together a bookshelf and need to secure the screws to a shelf. And a screwdriver is horrible tool if you're trying to make a six inch hole through a piece of wood.

In the same way, Terra Mystica isn't the best game if I'm in the mood for a quick filler that I can play with non-gamers and Codenames isn't the best game if I want something long and complicated with lots of tough decisions.

Regarding PL temptation proved too much, how can a game that lasts 18 hours before you throw it away even be considered for the best game of all time?

I'm sorry but that answer is unacceptable.
