Lots of gaming, but only one physical game this week.
On Monday, I played two games of Go online.
On Tuesday, another game of Go, and one play of Hive against my GF on Boardgamearena. We also started a game of Race for the Galaxy, but the potato-internet in her dorm decided to end that game.
On Wednesday, I taught a friend how to play Go. So that was another game. Since I'm a beginner myself, I didn't know what handicap to play with. I gave him four stones and proceeded to wipe him out ~150 to 20 points. So I guess four stones wasn't quite enough to bridge the gap. Ah well, he was interested so we'll see what happens
No gaming on Thursday, as I went to the parents' place for Christmas eve, and they don't really like board games. Ah well
On Friday, I played another three games of Go, finished the Race for the Galaxy game with my GF and proceeded to get my behind handed to me in Takenoko. For some reason, I lose that game against her almost all the time. Ah well, it's still fun
On Saturday and Sunday, another 8 games of Go. Did I mention that I'm really liking Go?
See Geeklist entry for details

Visited the entire family the for holiday week.
The very first game I played was....
Put back all the pieces to the games that I left behind there when I moved. My nephew and niece pretty much went through a lot of my bg and made a muck of certain things.... black cubes in Tigris & Euphrates were scattered about, missing a few cards in Coloretto, and Nightfall cards were strewn about.
Later on when we met....
Connect Four x5
Wanted to break out Transamerica, but not with a 4yo. Perhaps in another 2 to 3 years or so.

Click Clack Lumberjack x6
Favor of the Pharoah x6

Nephew's Bday: Family members cleared out by 7:30 so we had a clear table. His choice of game: Betrayal at House on the Hill (his favorite)
Another Nephew's Bday: Same exact situation. Introduced them (3 brothers age 11 to 20) to Dominion this time. Big hit.
Christmas day: 20 family members and there at a table I find myself chatting with the same three nephews from the previous Bday celebrations. We talk of Star Wars and inevitably drift to talk of Dominion. I still have a stack of games out in my car so we silently decide to bust out Dominion right in the middle of the conflagration and blast through 1 1/2 games, dodging drink spills, boarding parties, and pressure to socialize. One of the more successful and fun games I have played on Christmas day right in the heart of chaos.

Wildlife Safari and Hey, That's My Fish! with non gamers!
They had a great time with them.
The plan is working...
Had a marathon session on the 26th, each game with 4 players in attendance.
First game was Merchant of Venus (second edition).
Played the classic version rather than FFG's attempt at the game. I finished in 2nd place, needing just one more turn to get to 4000 credits. So close, yet so far.
Second game was DungeonQuest Revised Edition.
This was my first ever foray into this game. Call it beginners luck but I pulled out a win. I managed get all the way to the center and back with about 1300 gold. I exited with exactly 1 life left. The gold leader had 1900 and was one move away when he failed the first sundown roll with a "1", securing my victory!
Third game was Xia: Legends of a Drift System.
Also another first time for me. I did well at first with exploration and completing a mission but one of the other players was pretty much left alone the whole game doing trade runs.
Despite that we crippled him one turn then destroyed him the next, he managed to respawn right where he needed in effort to complete a quick mission and got his final victory point.
It took about 12 total hours to do all three including a lunch and dinner break.
Was lots of fun.
