Hello everyone and welcome back to A Year in the CDC. The only place you will get the whole truth about how the CDC work.

Last Time, the team found the last unknown strain infecting the world and the military helped slow the spread.

As April started, the whole team was brought into Headquarters. Due to the riots and military support, there was no budget left. Not for the near future. The team needs time to sort out funding for the upcoming months. Mcnaulty headed off to raise funds being the face of the CDC's fight against COdA.

This month we will be following:

Griff: The lead scientist in charge of curing diseases
Temperance Brennan: an expert researcher in finding clues for cures and sharing her data with the rest of the team
Mcnaulty: The head of the medical staff on the ground curing patients
and member of the engineering corps: James Rupert "Rhodey" Rhodes.

Fortunately the team weren't given anymore objectives, and still just needed to complete two of:

cure the latest strain of the non-COdA diseases,
eradicate one of the diseases,
help the military build bases around the world.

The team worked together to battle the diseases. Rhodey built military bases, and quarantining COdA when necessary. The grassroots funding was still paying off and helping keep the number of infected COdA patients just manageable. The teams efforts looked like they were going to be for nothing as the patients queued out of the hospitals but the staff could do little for them.

Then just outside the research centre in Chennai something weird happened. The patients started changing, becoming violent. COdA had changed again. Spotting the infected was easier as their skin became translucent, but the risk to all medical staff meant the plan changed from sending the team to hotspots to evacuating them from them.

The team raced to cure the other diseases and regroup when outbreaks and riots spread across the Middle East. Cairo not only rioted, but was on the edge of collapsing completely. COdA-403c spread to Khartoum and team returned to base wondering how the world so quickly headed to collapse.

Game 5: Lost

Rhodey realised that the new threat needed new tools, and learnt how to quarantine cities better. Most of the faded overran the military bases built, but one in Istanbul survived the initial onslaught and was fortified to ensure a permanent route into the disaster zone that was COdA.

Upgrades: Starting Military Base in Istanbul and Local Pressure on Operations Expert.

The team changed up who was on the ground as Mcnaulty showed signs of illness and Temperance stayed back at HQ to ensure it wasnt the early signs of COdA.

To replace them in the New Disease Team, Charlie and Martha took the lead.

(Characters for second half:
Martha: Quarantine Specialist
Charlie: Dispatcher
James Rupert "Rhodey" Rhodes: Operations Expert
Griff: Scientist)

With Charlie on the ground and with Rhodey's new ability the team focused on Quarantine control of COdA whilst slowly searching for the other cures. Rhodey built a personal Headquarters of a military base in Karachi which he flew into quarantined the surrounding area and then left.

Outbreaks did occur and Baghdad and Delhi started to riot.

It all looked well but time was ticking on so Martha gambled. If she didn't Quarantine she could cure the yellow disease leaving the other two close to being cured and a quick eradication could occur.

Then disaster struck, an epidemic led to an outbreak and the army was called in to stop the outbreaks spreading further.

Game 6: Lost

The team were sadden by the loss a month had gone by and the only advances that were made were military bases, Rhodeys contacts and the authorisation to call in the army to reduce the Faded... a complete failure.

Upgrades: Starting Military Base in Karachi and Air strike unfunded event on Cairo card.

Come back next time to see how the team can bounce back from this disaster.
