Just thought about doing a WW game based on the Stephen King Book & TV miniseries "The Stand". Has anyone ever done this? Would any of you be interested in this? Thinking maybe April...

Hasn't been done.

Might be interesting. You could do it episodically and have great success I suspect.

Not done on this board. Great idea!

I've had a few ideas on this theme (two separate threads, the duelling threads not dissimilar to what dbmurph has planned for the Departed) but you should do it!

If the times are compatible to my *&$@# work schedule, I'd give it a shot. I don't normally like reading his books since I find them to be tedious at best, but I saw the mini-series and it wasn't bad at all for a book adaption.

So weird, I was just thinking about this book the other night (I was stuck in traffic, and remembering how everyone just died in their cars, so even then I would have been stuck in traffic).

I think this was his best book. Quit reading him quite a few years ago though.

it's a good idea. i mentioned this exact theme to someone several months ago, but I forget who? I think that person was interested in running it so perhaps you can get a co-mod.

I would be interested in playing. I've not read the book, only seen the miniseries.

Maybe I'll try to find my ruleset and plan this for later this spring? I had it in cassie forever ago but deleted it when it didn't fill up.

Maybe the time just wasn't right.[/q

You may be right. I'll work it up again.

Definitely interested! I've read the book several times, but still haven't seen the movie. I'm afraid I would be disappointed. soblue

IMHO, apart from missing or changing a few details, it seemed remarkably in-line with the book. Stephen King is always involved in his screen adaptations and even takes bit parts in most.
