Atmospug The Board Game
2 - 6 players (with possible solo variant)
Atmospug The Board Game attempts to recreate the experience of playing Atmospug the mobile game with the use of cards and a few player pawns.
A central row of cards represents the 2D "platform" and the stacking of cards within the row represents height.
In Atmospug The Board Game, the goal is to earn the most coins after a number of rounds. Coins are awarded each round to the first player to reach the doghouse, but can also be "collected" during a round.
Each round, (n) cards are drawn from a single deck and laid out in a row, face up. The deck consists of cloud cards, bad guys, obstacles and coins.
After initial setup, players, in turn order, draw a card and either place it above one of the start cardsor keep it for future use. Then either place their Pug pawn (at the start of the row) or hold off on this action until a future turn.
Generally, when a card is landed on by a Pug, its' corresponding action is then taken by the player and then it is discarded from the game to a central discard pile.
The various cloud cards allow players to "jump" along the row (n) cards when a pug lands on them.
Coin cards allow coins to be collected when a pug lands on them, but unlike clouds, as they are not a sold "surface", the pug remains on the next available cloud (or Bad Guy) within the stack.
Bad Guy cards, when landed on, send a Pug back to the start of the row. A "take that" element may be introduced via certain flying bad guys who, when revealed (i.e, after a cloud above has been discarded) send the closest player back to start before being discarded.
If a pug is placed or moved onto a card already occupied, the original occupant moves one space further along the row (reaping the benefit or suffering the consequences of the new card).

Sounds interesting so far!
