I was curious what you guys favorite game was of 2015. It's a slightly different perspective than looking at just ratings, which is how popular a game is among those who play it, whereas this is more how popular is the game among the general gaming population.

The options are taken from the current top 500 of BBG. I know it leaves out some great games, but I thought it'd be silly to add even more option, and even if the game is great, it's probably not going to be a top contender if it's not yet in the top 500.

Feel free to post your favorite if it's not included on the list.

Well I'm biased since it's my favorite game of the year followed by Marco Polo, but it seems pretty up there. It's the 6th most voted on game this year and is coming in at number 347 currently.

But it's definitely not for everyone

Why did you include any games besides A Game of Thrones: The Card Game (Second Edition) in this poll? Seems like a pointless exercise.

--panic attack-- omgomg I CAN'T CHOOSE.

But seriously, so many damn good games this year.

I voted XCOM, but Mission Red & Mysterium are only .4 lower in my personal ratings.

Also, I haven't played Pandemic Legacy yet (just got it for Christmas), but seeing as how Pandemic is my all-time favorite game, there's a very good chance I probably would have chosen that.

Die hard XCOM fan though.

For me it's a toss between T.I.M.E Stories and Pandemic Legacy. Pandemic Legacy is probably the greatest game I have ever played. So many twists and turns. Amazing experience. I usually prefer playing ASL and older wargames these days, but Pandemic Legacy blew me away. A new era in gaming. But then T.I.M.E stories was absolutely fantastic as well. I think Pandemic is better because it has a Twilight Struggle-esque air of tension every time you play.

I only played Codenames which I enjoyed much and Cthulhu Wars which did nothing for me. So Codenames it is.

Grand Austria Hotel is the best game of 2015. It is at a rank of 905 with a non negotiable price tag of $54 bucks.

And it is climbing.

700 today. A gain of 200 in less than 1 month. Still $54 dollars to buy.

Well I am apparently not a card carrying member of the cult of the new.

I have only played three of those games, and one of them was earlier tonight for the first time

None of the above. It's March of the Ants for mine.

Being an early 2015 release and limited KS run though it's sadly off the radar of most lists like this

That's nothing to be ashamed of. I, too, have only played three of the games in the list.

I didn't think 2015 was all that exciting a year for games.

Great game but a lot of people play with 2p primarily. I don't like it for 2p. It's too open and the blame game doesn't work.
