Age of Steam Cuba was created by Martin S, from the Steambrothers. This map was played several times in our group and the comments were very good. There is some new actions like exportation and revolution that adds interaction in the game. This map is not published yet and may be included in a future AoS expansion kit from the Steambrothers. We usually play this map with 3 or 4 players since the space to build is limited. Martin, Anas, Laurence and Pierre would play it tonight.

Martin had a good start when he was able to choose urbanization action with his third place on round 1. Martin and Annas started in the west and Laurence and Pierre builded on the eastern side of the map. Second turn was critical in the west when Martin choose first build action to block Anas completely in a small area. This was big since Martin was then able to build a nice network with many small loops. Anas then had to split his network and give some income to Martin for the rest of the game. To make things easier Anas again split his network when he builded in the east. On turn 4 Pierre choose the revolution action to protect some nice deliveries of purple goods. On the next turn Anas choose the revolution action on red goods and this hurted Martin, Pierre and himself ! Martin was in control and he even urbanized Pierre to extend his network in the center and at the same time he blocked Anas from connecting the center of the map. At this time Martin had a big lead over the other players but the game was still fun as the other players fighted for the second place.

Again we had a great time on this map and even if it was Laurence first try on this map, she performed well. We didn't have to change any rule since a long time on this map and there don't seems to be any flaw on this map. For us It's important to playtest these prototypes several times to make sure the players have fun with our maps.

Final scoring:
Martin: 93
Laurence: 63
