So I've for a long time been able to spot the holes in a,lot of the OMG my plaaaan! stories around the ACA. I just found this little examinagion of a few of them a good read. It also is kind of gross Cruz would let his family go without healthcare for a politicsl tslking point. I wonder how many poll points it would take to parachute one of his children into ISIS territory with a note taped to them saying 'kidnap me!'

He let it lapse because he was too busy playing politics, and in truth, monetarily it's a drop in the bucket for him. Not so for most hard working American families if they had to fully subsidize their own health insurance.

Being born in Canada, can't he just go up there for free healthcare?

I am proud to have opposed those who describe all who oppose them as "Tender Flowers" and "Special Snowflakes".

Okay, yes, this is obviously political positioning and, basically, lies. But, though he says his family is going without health care, what he means is that they're going without health insurance. For a family as wealthy as his, that's not that big a deal. Might even save them money, if nothing serious happens. In a hilarious plot twist, if someone in his family is diagnosed with something requiring expensive long-term treatment, he'll be able to get a plan which will cover the by then pre-existing condition because of the ACA.

Yes, that's right, the only reason Cruz's attempt to make the ACA look bad doesn't risk massive continuing costs is the very ACA he's railing against. Man, what a tool.

But...but...but...it's Obama's fault that Sarah Palin's son Track beat up his girlfriend and then threatened to kill himself with an illegal weapon (AK-47)!!! Of course it's Obama's fault that Ted Cruz was so focused on getting a Kenyan-born socialist Muslim out of the White House so America can be great again!

Yeah, Cruz is a giant frickin' tool.

Most provinces (which actually administer and run the health care plans) only offer coverage to residents. So no.

I think he renounced his Canadian citizenship anyway a couple of years ago.

We might take him back, but only if he apologizes.
