It's Valentine's season, so it's that time of the year again.

You can buy 50 plastic red or pink hearts for just $1 at the DollarTree.

https://www.dollartree.com/catalog/product.jsp?productId=335...

I use these for several games:

Runebound 2nd edition
Prophecy
Ca$h n' Guns
Run, Fight, or Die

and maybe others I can't think of now.

I usually get the red ones, in fact only got pink ones this year, as I am thinking about using both colors in Run, Fight, or Die, using the pink ones for the Mutant Boss tokens. Many may prefer BGG's plastic brains for that as it's more thematic, but I get a bit grossed out by those.

How big are these? I'd like to get some for my vanilla Love Letter.

Also, these might work well with The Three Musketeers: The Queen's Pendants

I purchased some last year, if they're the same and as I recall, without having one in my hand, they would be about 1/2 at the widest point that would be the point to the top

Someone posted a picture of one next to a penny and/or in their LoveLetter box. If we can find the old thread in Hot Deals we would be able to see this. Later I may try to find it. But yeah I would compare it to about penny sized.

I replaced my cubes in Love Letter with these and they work just fine. I also use them along with the these Blue Gems for King of Tokyo/King of New York to replace the spinners that always get bumped and are hard to see other player's stats.

While it's not the aforementioned image with the penny, it does give a bit of visual scale.

That is indeed what she's saying. However, it clarified the previous post stating that they were:

And now... we know 1/2 of what!

Picked these up last year, great all-purpose health tokens. Now I wish they would make "Brains" table scatter for all the games that use sanity...

From last year's thread:

I also recommend looking at last year's thread for other awesome gaming supply ideas found at the DollarTree, if you are not familiar, many which are year round, but another seasonal one is the Mardi Gras coins found at this time.

Between these and the aforementioned brain tokens at the BGG store (re-painted in blue), you'd have Health & Sanity tokens for Arkham Horror or Eldritch Horror.

There are also beads, crystals, and other gems found at the DollarTree shown at the link I gave for last years's thread. All for $1 a bag.

Just to confirm, I have the Red Velvet bagged version of Love Letter and these fit nicely with sleeved cards.

I have mine in King of Tokyo. I know, I know, there is a counter, but no one can tell how healthy you are and there is a constant asking of "what's your health". Stop the madness!

Couldn't agree more! I use the hearts for health along with the these Blue Gems for King of Tokyo/King of New York as stars/points. I've totally ditched the spinner counters due to the reason you stated as well as they are way to easy to bump and mess up the values.

I have looked several times for these at my local store but they do not carry them.

These are seasonal, so I wouldn't check until they have valentine's stuff out.
