I'm making my board and ordered a bunch of steel 1cm balls for the seeds.

So in the meantime, anyone know some good opening moves, mid-game, end-game ideas, etc?

So far I've only been playing on a free app , but it only has the easy setting and I can consistently beat it.

My strategy thus far:
I usually start by working my way around the back to create a good line for later big moves.
While I'm doing that I try to protect my nyumba and build it little by little.
But on the easy setting often I can clear my opponents front row before we even enter the mtaji phase of the game.

So, I don't have much to go on.
Tips, etc..
or
good websites with that kind of info would be great to know
Thanks

Yeah, it is called "Bao Zanzibar", found it in the google play shop.

Nino from Kibao.org said the rules aren't 100% correct on the app, but I suppose for learning the majority of how the game plays I think it is correct. Not sure which rule was wrong. Something minor as far as I can tell.

There is a paid version that only costs 99cents. I was thinking about getting it, but if the rules are slightly wrong I might wait.

*edit: I also found a good app for Igisoro which although not quite as cool as Bao, is a fun 4 row mancala type game. Another one for Omweso, but it was just so-so.

My roughly made board. Still need to put a protective layer on it. Didn't want to put too much effort into it since I will buy a nice board in the near future and probably won't need this one any longer.
Made of very cheap wood that doesn't cut very cleanly.
On my no job budget for the time being though...

Added little reminders of which holes are the kitchwa and the kimbi. The nyumba is pretty obvious.
I suppose it is just a learning board. Will see if I can get my friends into it as well.
Now just waiting on the seeds to arrive in the mail in a day or so.
