HI Jason,
Just wondering why in your game the Allies have their turn first? When in the actual battle, I understood that the French opened the battle by firing their batteries first.

My guess would be that it's meant to compensate the French army set-up advantage.

My opinion too_

The following sequence makes sense:
Player A: Set up first.
Player B: Set up second.
Player A: Move first.

As the British - historically - are on the Defence and therefore set up first = Player A - the rest should be the logical consequence...

Hi John,

The answer is simple:
Because the Allies were there first...
It also give the Allies the opportunity to take hold of the buildings Hougemont & La Haie Sainte first.

Kind regards,

Halloa Jason,

very good idea!

in the Expert game, two Allied pieces start in Hougoumont.
Can they be placed in those two spaces of Houg., which are on the Southern/French side? Or do they have to enter "from the North", and be placed in the Northern 2 spaces (like in Nox's Video).

Greetings, Reinhard

Another Explanation: STRATEGO-Tradition!

In Classic Stratego also the RED Player starts!
