Hey folks!
So I recently decided I needed a man bag... I now own a man bag.
I'm thinking of having just a couple of card/dice games to keep in it.

So I guess the loose criteria is:

- Easy to learn, describe & play
- Perhaps a good gateway game
- Small
- Perhaps possible 1 player option

Some things I'm thinking of is Love Letter, Fluxx, Red7 perhaps Bang! Dice game. I'm interested to hear any other suggestions that I've not heard of though

Cheers!

Hanabi

Dragon Punch 2p, does not require a table.

And definitely Love Letter.

For 1p (or 2p co-op) maybe Onirim. The new second edition has a bigger box but the old edition should be pretty small.

HTH!

Star Realms is a good two player deckbulder, not much bigger than a regular deck of cards.

Pixel Tactics is another good two player game.

Wow! Thanks for all the kind and quick responses!

Hanabi sounds a really nice game.
Pixel tactics looks good and appeals to my liking of Pixel Art
I completely forgot about Hive and it comes in a nice bag too.

Jaipur artwork looks beautiful. Just checking out a Dice Tower review.

Thanks folks!!!

Valley of the Kings

For a solo option (although might be difficult to track down): Shephy (Perhaps Tony Boydell still has a few copies floating about...)

My man bag carries Cockroach Poker and One Night Ultimate Werewolf. And sometimes Zombie Dice as well. Perfect!

Dungeon Crawler is a great solo/co-op dungeon crawl that will fit in a deckbox.

Any of the Tiny Epic games are small enough to fit in a bag and offer superb game play, especially Tiny Epic Galaxies

+1 to Onirim. Solo and 2-player co-op. Fun and replayable. Can fit in a plastic deckbox.

+1 to Pixel Tactics, with a caveat. It's not a simple game to teach, and it's awful to play with an AP player. I still like and recommend the game a lot. My brother and I can't get enough of it and we don't have any expansions yet. But it might not be what you are looking for.

+1 for Martian Dice, I already own that so would save a few pounds buying new stuff

I was watching a review on One Night Ultimate Vampire. I've seen Ultimate werewolf being played but haven't joined in. I need to give it a shot.

Even is Pixel Tactics isn't for the manbag sounds like a good buy for the collection

Hive Pocket

Yardmaster Express (up to 5 players)

Avignon -- I have been playing the PnP version lately and really love this clever little game. It's available to pre-order now, and it comes in a little wallet... so I think the packaging would be perfect for you.

+1 to Onirim for a good solo with 2 player co-op option

Star Realms is a little thicker deck, but it's a good suggestion if you want another good solo experience that can also support multiplayer and not too hard to explain.

Super light filler options, but tiny and easy to explain: Get Bit! or Zombie Dice. Looks like you have Get Bit. Pack the bits into a small bag and you're good to go.

Games that use Icehouse pieces might be another option.

Level 99 games makes some good stuff. Check out BattleCON as well for a great fighting game, although definitely takes time to fully learn and can be very AP inducing when you try and plan for what your opponent might play.

Oh, that reminds me, NOIR: Deductive Mystery Game is a great little game and is just a slim pack of cards.

Can recommend Seven Dragons, Treasures & Traps, Coloretto, Monsters vs. Heroes: Victorian Nightmares, Monster My Neighbour, Port Royal & Saboteur work well as gateways.

For more seasoned gamers try Omen: A Reign of War, Morels,
Eminent Domain: Microcosm, Rise of Cthulhu, Tides of Time for 2 player.

For more than two try Harbour, Cthulhu Realms, Oh My Goods!, Keep, Tuareg, Mottainai, Norsaga, Vault Wars, Captain's Wager & Province.

Although not all strictly dice/card games, all can be reduced to take up a very small space in ones man bag...

+1 to Pandemic the Cure. I forgot to add it to my previous post. I usually put it in a small bag and carry it to our gaming get-togethers.

Easy to learn, exiting and replayable, but takes more table space that some of the games here.

A super per simple game but it has fun art, can be taught quickly and still has a little strategy to it.

Machi Koro can be stashed in a small space if you just leave the box behind and put everything in plastic bags. It's easy to teach, is fun for non-gamers who aren't familiar or comfortable with deep strategy, and plays quickly.

Coup!

Also, can we just call it a bag? Is our masculinity so fragile that we have to gender "bag"?

Manbag, bag, messenger bag *shrug*. A thing that I put things into, I carry across the body and it make my moobs stick out more .

Maybe we need to add to the list:
- games I have a hope in hell of winning

Thanks for the suggestions folks! Loving just how many games. Seeing a few recurring games. I've added quite a few to my wishlist and will go through reviews etc.

Keep 'em coming
