While we are negotiating with local printers and publishers, we have released the game using Print on Demand from The Game Crafter.

Currently we are using a Print on Demand (POD) service called The Game Crafter. The Game Crafter (TGC) is the world’s first web-to-print game publishing company and offers a print on demand game publishing service. TGC empowers game designers around the world by allowing them to make a board game, card game, and custom playing cards through a website. Using the latest web technology, TGC developed an online publishing platform that simplifies the design, manufacturing, and retail processes related to tabletop games.

Print on Demand Edition @ $54.99:
* Rulebook
* 16 Colony Cards
* 118 Structures Cards
* 60 Event Cards
* 4 Special Event Cards
* 72 Influence Cards
* 54 Novinium Tokens (30x 1 Unit, 12x 5 Unit, 12x 10 Unit)
* 96 Target Tokens (6x 1 to 16)
* 2 Eight-sided Dice

Buy this version @ $54.99

As we finalise the process with the printers and the publishers, we will put the game on shelves and supply it through other avenues. This post will be updated to reflect that.

Hi! Theme aside, if I already own Machi Koro, do you think The Colony would provide a significantly different experience? Or would you suggest this to folks who would rather go for the space theme instead of city building?

Hi. Thanks for the question and it is an interesting one, so here goes. This may be a long answer ... sorry. 8-{

The game was inspired by Machi Koro but includes fundamental changes like the Influence Deck and the Event Deck. We are not trying to compete with Machi Koro but instead aim to be a completely different type of game that can sit alongside your copy of Machi Koro. Join the fun and build your colony.

Typically in a game of Machi Koro, you will sometimes end up feeling like a passenger as one player races away to victory and there is nothing you can do about it. The Colony 2174 changes this dynamic, by using your Influence Cards and your targeted structures you can try to prevent players running away with the game ... chances are they will be trying the same tactic on you.

As stated, this game is not intended to compete with Machi Koro or replace Machi Koro, it is designed to be a completely different type of game and offer a whole new level of game play.
