I'm going to teach my two daughters to play Basic Fantasy Role-Playing Game (3rd Edition)
https://www.boardgamegeek.com/rpgitem/160019/basic-fantasy-r...

Can anyone recommend an online store that has a large selection of cheap minis?

I'm thinking small plastic figures, including:

- 2 female adventurers - maybe fighters, maybe magic users, maybe generic female looking

- monsters, including possibly pet dragon, pet unicorn, etc

Much thanks

Reaper Bones are great! I used them to recreate my own pnp version of Heroquest, including furniture. The quality is really good for the price. Once in a while you get one with a wonky sword or bent kind of weird, but you can heat them up over steam and re-bend them and douse them in ice water to "reset" them.

Bones are good for getting specific minis relatively cheaply and are probably the best bet for your daughter's characters. For the monsters I'd look for deals on the D&D Adventure games.

You could also consider Heroscape. The unique characters are quite cheap on eBay, plus they're preprinted prepainted.

Check out the characters in Krosmaster: Arena

There are a lot of expansions where you can just get the characters but not the whole game.

Some of them are so unbelievable cute!
And more on the fun/fantasy side vs dark side.
No unicorns or dragons tho.

I use a lot of Clix (Mage Knight Dungeons), Monsterpocalypse and DDMs with some Reaper Bones.

Miniature Market, CoolStuffInc, Troll & Toad, eBay, GeekMarket, shop away!

Depends what you mean by cheap. Cheap mini's aren't cheap if you don't use them, so I would first bring your daughters to a FLGS with a selection of Bones miniatures, and have them select their characters. Sure, you'll be paying full price, but they'll have characters they hopefully will have an investment in, so will play them longer. The pets (familiars) will be harder to find (call the FLGS ahead of time to see if they're in stock), but Reaper has them and you might get them at the OLGS: https://www.reapermini.com/Miniatures/Familiar

As for monsters, if you're just looking for generic fantasy monsters, any discounted dungeoncrawler should have a good selection. But, if you're looking for specific "cute" ones, that might be tougher.

btw, If your daughters are familiar with anime and you want a non-violent roleplaying game about building relationships (no mini's, though), try out Golden Sky Stories. A free demo PDF is available, so you can try a game today if you can't make it to the FLGS:
