I need clarification. I'm not familiar with any of Zombicide's terminology. Activation when it comes to players and zombies means what exactly? Taking an objective just means to enter a room with the colored 'x' and just taking it, or using a search action? Thanks.

Activation is something that represents a turn of that player or Zombie. An activation of a player consists of 3 actions (4 actions once at yellow experience). An activation of a Zombie typically provides only a single action, although Runners take two actions. If multiple Zombies are set to activate (such as during the Zombie Phase of each turn), they do so simultaneously (thus sharing their action when attacking survivors).

Taking an Objective requires a Take an Objective action. Some missions might activate objectives instead, which would require the Activate an Objective action. These action is described in the rules on p22.

note that entering a room and taking an objective are 2 seperate actions, its not combined.
