My previous campaign attempt fizzled out and after a 6 month break I’m trying to reboot things. The one thing I’ve never been able to figure out is if you are supposed to actually place the green, yellow, and red spawn tokens on the map. I haven’t found anything about it in the rules or FAQ. Given the matching token symbols I’ve always thought you should put tokens on the board to represent the Imperial spawn points. However, there have been a few missions where there aren’t enough tokens of the appropriate color. Plus placing the spawn points unveil some of the strategy for the Imperial player.
How do you fellow Imperial Players handle these?
Deployment points are hidden until you use them. Keep in mind you are required to deploy as close as possible to the Deployment Point (including directly on the Deployment point being your first deployment).
Also, remember that you are required to read everything as it occurs from the manual. This includes "The yellow deployment point is now active" or "Deploy the reserved Stormtroopers to the RED deployment point".
Yes, it's silly, but it does tell the Rebels to expect new danger. Make a point to make fun of announcing this.
(The second item tells the rebels not to expect anything else to pop up at the red deployment point, providing legitimately useful information)
