I'm curious if anyone can confirm that this game is indeed fun/playable with 2. I generally just play with the wife, so backing the kickstarter kind of depends on this for me. Thanks!
Hey Ryan, Thanks for your interest in House of Borgia.
It is one of the more interesting bluffing games at 2 players. Wife and I have played it a couple of times now.
Each player has two hidden roles. Trying to balance and manipulate the row of cardinals in your favor without getting caught is a challenge.
The variant rumor rule for two players also helps with the deduction of who's who.
The rule is that a player can't place one of their own hidden cardinals in front of the other player when taking the rumor action.
This eliminates a player posting their own rumor cards in front of the other player and the player not being able to move it away. (Can't move a rumor card from in front of you, another player has to do it.)
This also helps players deduce what their opponents cards could be.
In fact, the last game we played as a two player, we both ended up losing cause we had guessed each other roles.(All four were guessed correctly!) =D
I do talk about it a little more in one of our episodes of the podcast if you are interested in listening, I can track it down for ya.
Hope this helps!
