I drew an adventure card last night that had me spawn a creature - The Avatar of Kalima and fight it to the death. Then, if I survived, I would get whatever rewards were listed.
a: resolve the card during this action taking as many combat checks as necessary (all the other story cards are resolved immediately following a check roll)
b: have one combat now, then wait until the other adventurers have taken an action then spend another action to combat again and repeat until the Avatar is dead and I can resolve the story card.
I went with 'a' as it was a fairly easy fight for me to win in one attampt but I would have immediately started another combat chack if the first one hadn't have killed it. That's how the story card seemed to read and the other players were happy to do this.
If 'b' was correct, what would happen if there was a Tomb phase in between?
I did have a couple of other campaign related questions, but I'm buggered if I can remember them now.
Your instincts were correct!
Fight it out really quickly in one turn... this card is meant to be exciting and difficult, but meant to all happen to you and all at once. There are few cards in the game like that
Glad you were able to win!
Well done sir!
