"Too late, too late" will be the cry…
…when the man with the bargains has passed you by.
This is not a post to complain about her questionable "duckface" art, nor about how people may prefer to purchase her outright rather than spend their hard-earned time to acquire her for "free." Rather, this is a brief account outlining my own personal foray back into (F2P) WoW over the past two days.
I got into WoW post-BC, enjoyed WotLK quite a bit, but finally unsubscribed after Cata. I've poked my nose into Pandaria briefly with the occasional free game time, but have not seen any compelling reasons to go back. Until now! I had an old level 7 throwaway toon (Nelf rogue) from many years ago, I like Kalimdor and the Draenei lore, and so after turning in a few easy quests in Teldrassil I spent the rest of my time leveling on Bloodmyst Isle. It was familiar, but sad, in a nostalgic way; like an old flame.
Bloodmyst hasn't changed much, but Darkshore has changed a fair bit since Cataclysm. I'd forgotten just how big the world is; it takes a lot of time getting around on foot! I'd planned to go to Stonetalon Mountains (For the Horde–I mean–for the Alliance!) to finish out my last level, but I picked it up along the way in Darkshore without really trying. Leveling is so fast nowadays–at least at low levels. It used to take a day to gain a level; now you can get like two per hour. I suppose when the level cap is 100(?) now it's necessary. It was fun for the most part, and I took pictures!
Went to the bottom of the Exodar (accidentally):
Ran into Blingtron 5000:
And Malfurion! (I made a sweet anigif but it's bigger than a microbadge):
Finally earning: Belf Hero (ironic as I spent a fair amount of time killing blood elves)!
Thanks for reading!

There are rewards in Hearthstone for playing WoW?
Unfortunately it didn't exist when I spent several years in WoW.
Also - post necro.
