Miniature Games

Widower's Wood: An Iron Kingdoms Adventure Board Game
Widowers wood is a scenario driven miniature board game where you cooperatively work through a campaign, battling the bad guys. It is set in the Iron Kingdoms RPG world and a lot of features were carried over to the board game, as well as specific mechanics. It seems a bit like a rpg on a grid board and probably would be best if explained to you by someone who already knows the rules. The miniatures of which there are 80+ in the core box are quite stylish and should be fun to paint as well. Widowers Wood is 100USD for the core box or 140 for the deluxe version which include the dead men walking expansion and all the stretchgoals.

Relicblade: adventure battle game
Relicblade is a 30mm scale tabletop adventure battle game. Set in a fantasy world One player is a band of heroes and the other one controls the pig army, both looking and fighting for ancient relics. The game is designed to play quick with new players in mind: the rules are easy to learn, the actions you can perform are always on the action cards you have. Also it doesn’t need a boatload of miniatures to play. You fight for control over these mysterious relics and if you recover one you get to draw a card from the so called relic-deck and see which one you got. These relics are huge upgrades to your character but not necessarily a sure fire way to win, you do need to take out all of the enemy models for that.6USD for digital rulebook and battle cards so you can play it with your own minis, 25USD for a small 3 miniature starter set and 99USD for a full 2 player war set, including the wave 1 heroes and wave 1 pig army.

Board Games

Mi Tierra: New Era
Mi tierra nueva era is a worker placement, resource management game designed in Chili and is getting it’s second edition. Several farmers are striving to produce and sell as much goods as possible, trying to keep ahead of the competition. It introduces a little bit of luck here and there and should good fun for most gamers as it’s a fastpaced game with solid gameplay to offer. I personally very much like the style of the board, reminds me a bit of stuff like settlers and such for some reason. Copies of mi tierra nueva era Second edition cost 39EUR.

Card Games

Steam Court
Steam court is a trick-taking cardgame set in a Steampunk world. The Goal of the game is to please the queen with your steampunk creations. Each player is a different character with unique abilities chosen at random, trying to influence the game and win the eventual trick. The mechanics are looking pretty good and there’s a decent theme set, so if you like a light cardgame with some twists, check out Steam Court. It is 9USD for a High quality PnP and a boxed version costs 29USD including US shipping.

The Wastelanders: 2048
Wastelanders: 2048 - A Card Game is a random-tile based survival game where you need to get food or you’ll die, simple. Except for the fact that everybody is doing the same. Wander through the wasteland (generated by flipping and placing city tiles), meet people who will give you perks, or will hinder you and try to survive, which often means kill before getting killed, your food is a target as well! It looks great fun and has a creepy style which fits quite well. Wastelanders: 2048 is 5USD for a Print version and the Boxed one will set you back 32USD

Miscellaneous Games

[External Link Omitted]
Against Inhumanity, or inhumanity stinks as it’s called now due to copyright issues (and I’m quite sure it was called Cards against inhumanity at the beginning of the campaign) is Cards against humanity but with really nice things. I am not the target demographic. 10USD for a PnP or 35 for the Printed version.

Sad KS Story

[External Link Omitted]
Field tactics is a column-row based tactical board game where it’s your goal to claim the Last resourceful region of Lumbrosia. This resource is used to buy or activate row effects which will affect the creatures in it. There’s 3 factions in Field tactics, all with different creatures with different stats and abilities and they all look really good! The artwork on this is very pretty. I’d actually love to see some B&W PnP had appeared on the page so I could check it out and sets it apart from the other games in its genre. It’s the second time that they try to fund Field Tactics and this campaign has come a long way from the first one, but having gameplay videos appear only in the final few days might not be a good idea. Also, without being able to have a few reviews at hand or actual gameplay footage, 50USD is a bit of a gamble and even though KS is meant to be that way, due to a saturated market people just expect more form a campaign nowadays, meaning this one won’t make it. And that’s sad.
