I heard Slaughterball is similar to Ninja All Stars. Can anyone who has played both break down the similarities and differences, please?

I haven’t played Ninja All-Stars, but based on viewing a review video, I would say they aren't very similar other than they include dice-based miniature combat.

The best way to see the differences is to check out the rulebooks:

Slaughterball rulebooks -

Ninja All-Stars rulebook -

Here are few quick differences I gleaned by watching a NAS review video:

Slaughterball – realistic genetically engineered sports teams compete in a futuristic arena
Ninja All-Stars – Chibi ninja squads fight each other in an historical village

Slaughterball – facing doesn’t matter
Ninja All-Stars – miniature facing matters

Slaughterball – combat and goals for points
Ninja All-Stars – combat only for points
