It does seem like a lot of the anti-Trump stuff is typical college over-reaction. At the same time, though, it does seem like at least one example was pretty nasty (if it happened as reported). Given that Trump has been pushing a heavily anti-immigrant tone and saying some pretty serious shit about Mexicans I can totally understand why a hispanic student finding "Trump 2016" written on his personal dorm message board would think that this was racially motivated.
That said, the response to that sort of shit has been and should be to fight back with words and ideas, not with banning speech. I had a hell of a lot worse aimed at me as an out college student in the late 80s and I never wanted the school administration to protect me from having my feelings hurt.
Horrors - are they suggesting *shudder* that there may be more *gasp* Trump 2016 messages in chalk on the sidewalks? Are they THREATENING MY SAFE SPACE? Not even being subtle about it - it's like the horse's head in the Godfather. Holy hell - next thing you know, they'll be displaying bumper stickers with a really offensive message - Hillary 2016! I DEMAND THAT THIS STOP! For I'm one of the most special snowflakes and seeing a Hillary 2016 bumper sticker would make me want to vomit. It make me *shudder again* think of a world in which *OMG* Hillary could actually be President, and it just gives me the terrors!
