May 1942 – Russia
Having lost Petsamo last turn, and facing serious manpower shortages, the Russian position grows desperate. Coupled with the severed oil routes, their fate hangs in the balance. Even this extended mud season may not save them now. And with the Germans having taken the Delta, they may not need to spread their forces as thin.
NOTE: I forgot to account for strategic war between the Germans and Axis naval units in the Indian Ocean last turn. The German SS and the British DD each suffered a step loss.
In the Arctic the German subs shrug off one hit by the technologically inferior US. The German combined air / u-boat force unleashed a terrible blow on the US forces, scoring FOUR HITS, taking all of the Murmansk Lend-Lease from Russian hands and sinking it to the bottom of the frigid Arctic waters.
Russia has 31YPP/6RPP/9BPP/1WPP/10 Oil. Build 1 Stavka step and 1 armor HQ step near Moscow, spend 6YPP on infantry steps near Moscow. Builds a 4-step fighter from the dead pool with 2BPP from Lend Lease and 4YPP/BPP. Builds 2 blue factories to 7th step and 3 red factories to 4th step. Build 2-steps for a tankette using Lend-Lease. Build 8 infantry steps from the dead pile. Save 3YPP, 2RPP, 1BPP and lose 5RPP, 2BPP and 1WPP (and 8 Oil).
Strategic Rail Movement
Stavka activates for an SRM, fuel an air unit and an armor unit. Navy HQ activates to fuel a fleet in the Baltic and the Black Sea.
The Russian continue to re-deploy along the Volga and Kuma rivers in the south and to defend Moscow and Leningrad and try to prevent the German forces near those two cities from linking up. And they wait for the rain to end, and the rivers to run red again with blood.
