Old Friend allows Han to free recruit either Lando or Chewie in the assignment phase.. just wanted to say this card is fantastic for the rebels!! especially early on as it takes some of the sting out of the imperial capture ability and gives the rebels a much needed action boost. I recently won as rebels 1st time I drew it and in the middle of the 2nd game now where i drew it early on. Anyone else having similar success with this action/recruit card?
The downside is you are losing Han for that turn, in order to recruit Lando or Chewy. At a critical point in the game that can make a difference, as what happened in my first game.
As the imperial player I played the missions to Capture and "homing Beacon" during assignment, because my opponent had committed Han to "Old Friend" and over committed his other leaders to other missions, he had one leader in the Pool. He then used that leader to move his fleet out of harms way. I was able to successfully capture and "Homing Beacon" one of his leaders and determine the region the rebel base was in. If he had Han he would been able to bring him in to help oppose the capture and oppose the homing beacon. We both agreed that was somewhat of a turning point in our game.
Not to say it's not a good card, I used it myself as a rebel player and after losing Obi-Wan to the Dark side I was able to even up the leader count a little bit.
