Yaaa, in kickstarter Update #55 For backers only, Jim Dietz, the creator of the project, told everyone that there were a few issues.
All sets were short 1d20 and short one play mat. He had stated in Update #53
I skimmed the spec sheet too fast--when dealing with China, I needed to be more careful. I'd said "5 additional dice" and they replaced the "1" with "5" (At least these are non-essential elements to the game...)
Under a section titled "SITUATION/RESOLUTIONS" in #55 he stated:
With the dice--this was my error, but I'm not going to fix this. It's a 0.30 cent part--but fixing it would require 30+ man-hours to properly mail AND a minimum of 1.00 postage/unit to ship properly.
The mat--same thing.
The initial kickstarter release also had 16 cards of the bonus Kickstarter deck printed with the improper coloring for 16 cards. They should have been printed in red text. This was a fixed with an errata deck that was mailed to all backers.
The the Kremlin name plate overlaped rules on game board. To which he mentioned:
Game board name plate: Lance Moody did some wizardry and has posted a 'patch' on boardgamegeek.
There was some rumors of a fixed board being made available, but it never materialized. Luckily what is covered up is also mentioned in the rule book or there is that "patch".
Then some were missing the special kickstarter Game box sleeve. I wasn't one of those, but he mentioned the factory is also printing box sleeves and mailing those.
Many called BS on the non-fixes for dice, mats, & the board, but he just stopped responding. 8/4/2015: Ultra PRO Acquires Jolly Roger Games, but when contacted responded to one backer with "Unfortunately we do not have any Kickstarter edition of that game on hand, and responsibilities for prior projects remain with the original owner of the company".
So if you bought a retail version you got 4 bonus dice and mats. Score! If you purchased a kickstarter version after the fact, the issues would be as mentioned.
It's not horrible though, the old Avalon Hill version only came with 1 die and 1 mat that everyone shared, so it is what it is.
I suppose I may have overanswered your question, but that's how I do sometimes. Enjoy.
