I've just bought this as it was mentioned as a good first step into war gaming. I'll generally be playing solo and just wondered how this works. Do I just play both sides?

It happens to be a great game for solo play -- highly unpredictable, and zero fog-of-war.

How is the action impulse phase handled playing solo?
I have zero experience in solo "wargaming".

PLB.

You just try to play both sides to the best of your ability. French impulse, see what you can do that's best for them (which may involve a little foreplanning, some good plays in WoG take a little while to set up and can't be done in one impulse), then same for the English. There aren't any solo rules - just (as in many games), playing both in a way you think makes sense.

Good luck.

Thanks.
I guess I just lack the imagination required to play against myself.
