Every night that Ed has been absent, we have been playing the 10 yr anniversary Settlers of Catan. More than twice.

Mwahahahaha.
I'm bringing it again tonight.

By the way, I heard a rumour the price was going down to $2. Plus there is very convenient pizza delivery, and very cheap cold soft drinks.

What more can you ask for!?

The San Juan came down the tie breaker - most cards in hand. Not exactly a convincing victory!

Not like my one point *clear victory* in Industrial Waste.
But you're forgetting the *first* game, where I was such a clear leader we didn't even need to examine the score board!

But let's not talk about the settlers game again.
(Because I lost again last night too!)

You wouldn't have won La Citta if I was there

I'll have to try even harder to make it this Friday.

Last night (for me at least) saw El Grande, The Prince and Power Grid all hits the tables. A couple of other games were also played by others but I didn't note what they were.

El Grande was convincingly won by Dave from Port Macquarie, with Jeff clearly in second and myself (first time player) lagging in third (ok, ok.. LAST!).

But things began to improve when I sneaked home by a point over Graham in my first game of The Prince.

Then to cement the night I nailed them all in 6 player Power Grid!

Woohoo.

Hmmm.... to much Euro bragging going down here.
Let's see if an 18xx game with me & Mike produces the same effect.
Ha ha!

Happy to join in on an 18xx game Graham. Just need to tie Mike down long enough!

But back to the Euro bragging.

Friday night saw Puerto Rico hit the tables with a one point victory going my way!

Dante's Terror (i think thats was the name) came out next with Jean throwing the right numbers for a well earned victory.

And then Jeff, Kath, Jean, Damien and I pulled out La Citta again and this time victory went to the only newbie, Kath, by a tie-breaking $1 over Damien. Well done Kath.

And then there are the nights that Liz turns up and everything becomes The Werewolves of Millers Hollow. I absolutley love the social atmosphere of that game, and the wheeling and dealing that is going on in the game.

My favourite moment was when I was tagged a wolf by the seer, then the seer was killed and revealed there card. Well here goes me I thought, lynched the next day! Somehow, somewhere along the line, I managed to convince people that lynching someone else who claimed to be the hunter would be good for them, because he would shoot me. Such a shame he turned out to be a villager, giving me another nights rampage!

I shall be there this friday, with my Wings of War planes, and eager to play some more Railway games! Missed out last week on getting any of the bonus point on Railway Tycoon and it made a big difference in my position in the standings. A solid third behind the insubstantially blocked NE player and the uncontested SE player on the maps. Well done David.

Just a quick post to say thanks for the games on Friday night. I really enjoyed Puerto Rico (and not just because I won, honest!) and Guillotine was a fun little filler that I hadn't played before.

Not sure how often I will be able to make it but I'm sure I will be back.

Cheers

Steve

Next time, Jenny, that you and Kim come along for a night, you gotta get more involved. I would have loved to have joined in the game you were playing last time I saw you, and then I blinked, looked up and you had left!!!

I agree. It would be good fun to play some games again.... and we still have the La Citta challenge mentioned above to complete.

Last week there were games of Imperial, Railroad Tycoon, 6 player game of Bootleggers, and a few others as well.

Just a quick note to add that we also play multi & 2 player boardgames on Sunday. They tend to be long & fairly complicated (by Friday standards) and generally take all day to play. Recently played:
Napoleonic Wars (GMT): 1861(Russian 18xx): 7 Ages(Oz designed): Fire In The Sky(ww2 Pacific): 3rd Reich (AH 4th edition): Paths of Glory(GMT ww1).

Big influx of Zman games, I played a wonderful game of Primordial Soup today, which I would have enjoyed and been amused by, even if I lost. It really is cute, but supports aggressive play quite well.

Fridays tend to push late now, with large group games of Werewolf taking place, and logic leaps, bluffs, and outright lies happening all over!

we did a new years event which held many things.
The karaoke was terrible - thank god that's not a regular thing.

There was starcraft, there was three dragon ante, there was that chariot race game (Ave Caesar?) and there was much rejoicing. And some werewolf.
There was also some warmachine and stuff, probably.

Last week saw an excellent turn-out.

From my very poor memory games played included;

Die Macher
Tikal
Brass: Lancashire
Fist of Dragonstones
Fiji
Incan Gold (or something like that)
Tigris & Euphrates
Betrayal at House on the Hill
Werewolf

and a few others that I missed (as I painstakingly concentrated on losing big time in T&E with never ending quantites of blue tiles).

See you all later today.

I also played Viking and lost miserably. I'm not sure it's a real game yet
Nope, those two games didn't count.

And Geister. The first one was just a warm up, and the second. Third one was real
