I'm going to stick with 1/300 but that might be small to some people. It is closer to scale. 1/144 is a fit to the spaces.

Thanks.

I can understand why a publisher wants to keep cost down via of not including 3D cars but I really wish they would indicate the scale, or best fit scale of their tracks in the rule book, box.

Me too. I've done a lot of Google searching for cars for Thunder Alley and Grand Prix but haven't some up with anything promising yet. Everything is either was too expensive or out of stock. The Game Crafter has cars, but they are pretty simplistic.

Or spend way less money and get some from shapeways. There's a couple good options in this guy's shop:

http://www.shapeways.com/shops/aegidian?section=Cars&s=0

Getting them in metal will run you $50-$70 depending on the set you choose. Plastic is $10-$15 or so.

I posted the question of car replacement under Thunder Alley, below are the replies,

https://www.boardgamegeek.com/thread/1592662/replacement-car...

Anyone read the rules? It looks like you need 22 cars, plus 10 and another 16 to substitute in and out?

I think I will wait to see the game first and go with

I wish to kill you, be at rest as to that, but to kill you quietly in a snug, remote place, where you will not be able to boast of your death to anybody

I've got the Shapeways F1 2009-2013 12 sprue in frosted plastic, and they are very nice! I originally bought them for Formula D but now I'm saving them for Grand Prix! But I need to get a few more, I can see...

Eureka USA has F1 cars in metal for $0.80 each. They 13mm long and 21mm long versions. The 13mm are just too small. The 21mm however seem to be the perfect size.

I bought 4 of each to check out size and quality. I like them and will be buying more shortly.

Correction: They are 17mm and 21mm long.
