It depends on the market, but every one of the non-exclusive components could effectively show up in the future.

At some point, I might even split that into two sections, one with known expansions and one without, but that's something for later in the Kickstarter.

I like that CMoN is being clear about the Hero and Monster packs being retail items later. Historically we have had to sus that bit out ourselves--good change.

I also expect that these "Could" replace the endless Artists boxes for this project?

Also, great list Jorgen.

Note that I think the absolutely coolest figures so far are ALL EXCLUSIVE - the Cyclops, the Werewolf, the two Ogres, and the Weretiger.

If anyone is on the fence for this kickstarter and thinking they might wait and see until retail, I'd pony up just based on what is exclusive. Those are some mighty fine exclusives. If I learned about these after I bought retail, I'd be seriously bummed out.

Assuming these are correct (can't imagine why they wouldn't be, but haven't had a chance to peer at the figures in detail), would it be possible to get the original post updated to show which of the stretch-goal figures are additional minis of an existing kind (i.e. by adding the word "extra" to the description) and which are new things.

at the moment, there's a lot of dwarves and orcs popping up, and i'm not entirely clear which are something new, and which are more of something already included.

If you look at the pictures of the minis, you will see that it is, indeed, correct.

All the "boss + minions" stretch goals so far are just "more of the same".

I first wondered, what use they would be, with only 2 or 4 minions, because you need way more than that. They are the same as the ones from the box, so only good for having more groups of the same type out, or playing with more than 6 players. From what I can see there, they are not even different sculpts. They are just there to give the impression of added value, while they add pretty much nothing to the game (and cost them pretty much nothing to produce as well, a few cents, if that much).

Come on, CMON, you can do better than that!

They do add something. The first Kickstarter Update explains that if you draw an enemy type and you don't have enough minis for that type, then you spawn a Roaming Monster instead. Having extra minis means you're a bit safer from the big guys. Here's the rule:

Massive Darkness Kickstarter Update 1 wrote:
Normally if you don't have the required miniatures to spawn a guard card, you spawn a Roaming Monster instead (and if you run out of those, the game is lost). So with these extra figures you will be able to have two Mobs of Orc Flayers on the board at the same time, as long as you keep the Minion population in check.

In addition, as per the above request, I've added 'extra' to the Enemy figures to make it clear they are repeats.

So, tweaking the difficulty. Sure, it's something, at least.

Still, I stand by my assessment, that they use them to create an illusion of added content and if you glance over the stretch goals, you go like "Woaah! So much stuff!".

I guess we will have to wait for the add-ons to see some new monster mobs.

I wish they would create something original, like an original monsters/enemy. Its all over the place, heres a big bird, heres a cyclops, here is a tiger that we ripped from Arcadia Quest Hellcats and called a Weretiger.

The Skorn from Darklight: MM i was impressed with, I wish they could do something like that and actually create an original new monster race with diversity.

Feels a little like this is just a fantasy miniature fest with a 'game' tacked on. A little sporadic at the moment.

I've got it on a spreadsheet and will update it today -- probably around 4 p.m. Pacific time.

With the latest unlocks, we just hit 300 Cards!

With the announcement of the next goal, I may create a new section for additional plastic that doesn't fit into the traditional concept of 'figures', to contain the pillars and chests (and likely doors eventually). Any thoughts?

Each extra miniature add-on set adds 1 boss and 2 players worth of minions. The base box monsters all have 1 boss and 6 players worth of minions. Pushing these numbers to 2 and 8 allows for the same monster group to spawn twice in 1-4P games.

Marginal value, but something.

I know it is pretty crude and barbaric metric, but what is actual dollar/mini ratio now?
Could it be added to the list?

Thanks.

Currently 111 Minis (Core box + KS exclusives)

that's near enough a dollar a miniature

Yep and the stretch goals correspond to that, coming with two or four extra minions respectively.

If I were to add it to the list... Would you include Pillars and the Chests as minis?

Well, I meant $1,040k... The amount is on the Kickstarter page and the updates. We'll hit the $1,100k mark soon.

Then again, maybe I should remove the separating comma, as I know it can be a bit confusing to those use to European numbering methods... So I will update it to $1100k once we get there. This matches the numerical method CMON is using, so it makes sense.

Anyone know what kind of gameplay the encounter minis will add... are they basically all the same or is their AI change from one to another?

Having more is nice, but if its all or more the same then there is not much of a point.

The Roaming Monsters all have a unique set of rules (listed in the Kickstarter updates). Is that what you are asking about?

If you mean the extra enemy miniatures, they are all currently extras of the ones in the base box. Running out of minis of a group means Roaming Monsters will spawn instead, so it's safer to have more.

I've updated the list with the Troglodyte Brute Minions with the assumption they need 5 cards (1per Guard deck). I'm also tracking the optional buys now, too.

Will the optional elementals be offered in a separate retail format? I'm going to need to spend deep into good hubby points to swing a $120 Kickstarter, but I really like the looks of this.
