Play More Games - Gaithersburg, Maryland

I teach games at my local game store and always enjoy showing Cheeky Monkey, it's quick to learn and play. Here is an accounting of an exciting recent session.

Player 1 gets something of an early lead, but player 2 comes on strong, winnowing him down by repeatedly drawing animals matching the top animal on player 1's stack.

Player 3 can't get much of anything going, pushing luck with a monkey and a jackal out, pulling doubles a couple times quickly - bad luck.

I pull early doubles three times in a row - more bad luck.

Player 2 is building a stack, hoarding monkeys, playing conservatively and smart.

Player 3 follows suit but is too far behind, getting winnowed down

Player 2 wins with 44 points!

The key to the game seems to be smart chip placement in the stack and just knowing when to quit, along with how you play your monkeys.

Lots of fun. Happy gaming all....
