Since these are used for each player to store things between games i want to upgrade to wooden chests. I know it's probably just a few cards and some tokens but you never know what surprises will be in the game and i want to make sure everything will fit that needs to fit.

Pretty impossible to know with all the surprises to come.
The only way to be safe is to have something as big as the box.

Of course, this is only allowing for Seafall season 1. If you want to fit seasons 1 through X in there, might want to buy a pocket sized tardis!!

One possible issue to consider is the outside dimensions vs the inside dimensions. The walls of a wooden box are going to be thicker then the presumably cardboard boxes that will be included.

If you make the wooden boxes big enough to hold all the player stuff, it might be too big to fit in the game box. This may or may not be a problem for you.

Not an issue, legacy games don't need long term storage with my group, we will get through it within 2 months. I care more about it looking and feeling nice than fitting in one box.

I was thinking the same thing... And allow each player to take their chest home, and protect it, or decorate it as they like with their Province's colors or symbols. Seems like a fun additional layer.

Province chests are 139x70x52mm in size. Essentially anything that can hold standard 2.5 x 3.5" playing cards and some plastic ships should work.

Hmm. I hadn't thought about upgrading. But now, I'm considering these ones.

I actually just bought this one 2 days ago...but as a chest for the metal coins.

One thing to note: the latch doesn't securely catch. It's quite loose and can pop open easily. Definitely meant to have some kind of small padlock.

Rob, are the sideboard and province boards punchboard material?

I don't know for certain, but I'd imagine that it'd be pretty difficult to make boxes out of punchboard. I assume they're cardstock, of the same sort of material that the Pandemic Legacy boxes were made of.

I'm asking about the sideboard and province boards, not the chests.

Keith, I can confirm that the sideboard and province boards are printed on punch board.

Thanks, that's fantastic! I love that extra thought put into the experience of using them.

Thank you Mr. Daviau, I'm going to paint the province logos on them so not only are they good for the game but they will be a nice souvenir at the end of the game too.
