I've played Runewars and War of the Ring. But while I'm a big fan of Runewars, I've noticed something missing - ships! Ships are why sometimes I reminisce in good will the Game of Thrones board game. While Runewars did have at least some rivers and lakes, which freeze during winter, the huge chunk of sea in WoR just stays unused. There's even no adequate representation of rivers in any way or such aspects as the Corsairs of Umbar.

Are there any similar games that incorporate a naval setting - with transports, supply ships, construction yards, naval battles, boarding, raiding and a little reaving perhaps? While I'm specifically interested in games of a similar setting, I'd not mind perhaps something a bit more historical.

Ships and stuff are hard to find, but this really was a fun, good-playing fantasy naval battle game. A 4x8 sheet of blue vinyl from the upholstery shop and some foam islands made for a lot of fun 20 years ago!!

I liked Pirates of the Spanish Main, it is also open for several interesting advanced settings.

The nautical element is prominent in Cyclades.

So, in essence, there's nothing quite like this on the market?

The closest thing would, potentially (though I would never classify it as an epic fantasy strategy game), be Cyclades?

Take a look on Dungeons & Dragons: Conquest of Nerath Board Game.

Did you check the War of the Ring: Warriors of Middle-earth expansion? I think the Corsairs there allow sailing along the coast (and transporting troops). It's still not the main aspect of the game of course, but maybe it suffices?

Other than that I don't really have any idea what could be a suitable game. Sci-fi games obviously have lots of ships to travel through space. Ships can be rather important in Clash of Cultures (including expansion), but thats no fantasy and not epic.
