No, not feasible for a bunch of reasons. It's just doing its orbital insertion burn at the perigee because that's the most effective.

Woo. Got goosebumps there.

I had no idea that there's water in Jupiter's clouds.

Also reminds me of the throwaway bit in 2001 where the balloon spacecraft is descending into Jupiter and right before it gets crushed by the atmosphere, it sees a large shadow moving amidst the clouds....

There won't be any video or photos during JOI. JunoCam will be disabled from 5 days before Perijove 0 until 2 days after. It will take photos at perijove every science orbit though. Emily Lakdawalla has the details (as always) here.

We've seen something special with Juno arriving into orbit around Jupiter. Surprised there hasn't been more discussion here. It'll be interesting to follow the experiments that the probe now undertakes during its mission in orbit.
