Just musing, it would be interesting to empirically test which personality types are less tolerant of differing opinions based on quickness to resort to THE RED X.

What do you think?

I have a hard time remembering the last time I did, but, man, open a thread that asks a designer to keep ANY political activism out of his game (looking at you Betrayal expansion), the red x's come-a-flying.

Are left wingers quicker to resort to running and telling mom?

Shuddup! Muh Feelings!

Which political side of the spectrum is more intolerant of differing opinions?

That's easy - The other side.

OP reveals bias. Baby's first RSP thread.

Sure, that's very noncommital and polite for you to say. Gold star.

However, in today's political discourse, which side resorts to pleading for more censorship again and again?

Would love to know if this spills over into the general population with regards to attitudes about silencing dissent, vs heated debate.

And your answer reveals that you self recognize.

Edit: If the religious right were clamouring to silence dissent, I would be just as scathing towards them, believe me (or not, who the f*ck cares really).

If Pat Roberts wanted to sneak an evangelical message into a boardgame I purchased under false pretenses, it would piss me off.

However, right now the biggest threat to freedom of speech is truly the left, IMO. They (you) are infantile and reactionary in their (your) attacks, and in the political scene far more prone to resort to violence to silence dissent.

The danger to civil liberties now comes from the left, and not the right.

What you can already see in this thread is that RSPs Finest cannot differentiate between censorship and having to deal with the fallout of whatever stupid-ass shit "they" just said.

Just to provide context here's the thread that started this nonsense:

A shame it didn't get moved, it's good for a laugh.

Our OP has a keyboard seizure in the thread, it tets locked, he crawls here.

I've played videogames since that epic intellivision with the 9 buttons behind the joystick thing, and neither Sarkeesian nor Zoe have ever crossed my radar except by someone weeping about how they are *destroying gaminggggggg!!111!1one11* nonr of the actual gaming, console or PC has actually been bothered. It's almost like the rage is self sustaining now.

Tl;dr. Show us on the doll where they touched your gamerscore.

Nope - asking for a clarification. And then not purchasing if I dont agree.

Or does the comrade imply I must buy boardgames with covert and/or overt political messaging to prove my loyalty to those that are good and virtuous?

Selinker can put whatever the hell he wants in his games.

I can feel free not to buy those games if it smells of political manipulation.

Always nice when noobs wander into RSP, pretend to ask a non-partisan question, then immediately lunge to blame "the other side," which means they really should have just started by saying, "Gosh isn't the left just the dadgum worst?!?" It would have saved everyone some time.

Speaking of trolls, have you met Drew?

this forum pretty much sums it up.

Lefty's become hostile and start a report campaign to get dissent banned.

The righty's laugh and call them names and move on.

It's a small microcosm of the real world.

Haha, that is funny. I am pretty sure all I said is I do not desire anyone's political agenda in my boardgaming. Left OR right.

There is absolutely no rage, I would call it disbelief, SIGH is the closest I could describe. Really.

Was looking forward to the expansion, now am not. That's it.

I do think others have the right to know that they will potentially be buying a left wing feminist 2016 election year campaign expansion though.

Keep droning on and building strawmen to knockdown. Facinating to watch your thought process.

Thiught process in general a new thing for you?

The idea that the expansion is going to be some stealth political agenda is paranoia of the highest caliber.

To be clear, by "dissent" he's talking about white supremacy and hilarious jokes about rape victims, not "hey guys, I vote Republican".

I thought the point was that the "left" didn't want the game forums politicized while the OP did.

Welcome to RSP. Please stay. We need more discerning people around here.

By tracking back the thread of this discussion, it appears you asked some questions and were concerned about the politicizing of a game you have previously enjoyed.

This is a valid concern.

But not for the left. For the left, politics is a religion, and so everything must be politicized.

And because the left believes that 99% of the world agrees with them (they never get outside their bubbles, so they never have this illusion crushed for them) they don't see any problem with politicizing everything.

Of course you agree with them. Of course. And if you don't, you're a troll (right, Mr. Fake Libertarian?).

The above might be the most ironic post in RSP history.

I'm fucking awestruck.
