This has been on my table for much of June and will be for July as well. Because even as I have internalized a fair bit of the rules, there is always something that needs to be referenced. I dig the traditional outline format, it's probably my favorite rulebook style. Just wish the rules had been proofread a bit more for errors and omissions.

Going to revisit this game, which is a favorite of mine and features some unique systems, especially the theater air operations.

I just picked up Wallace's War and am looking over the rules. In miniatures, I just picked up L'Art de la Guerre and I'm looking at various high-level (1 base = 1 company or more) WWII/Modern rules.

Pericles: The Peloponnesian Wars - playtest rules. Will start a solo playtest tomorrow.

Looks good...

Not my playtest copy though, that looks like crap. I was a poor art student.

Going over the rules to Storm Over Taierzhuang once again. I tackled these once before but never got around to playing the game so am determined to get it done this month.

Stranded in the lower reaches of Mesopotamia at the moment, and looking at a couple old SPI games.

S&T Blood on the Tigris

Also looking at Irad B. Hardy's Soldiers, I have a bold idea of creating a couple scenarios of battles in the Mesopotamian campaign using the system.

I still don't have my pre-order copy, but the rules went up for download on the Decision site. I got them and am reviewing them now.

In prep of my first f2f game. Read rules previously but never got deep into it.

It is set up ready to go on my table. Really want to play it, shrug.

Groking a game on Vassal in attempts to learn this. Huge step up for me.

Whilst clearing out some stuff from my Dad's place, I came across an old miatures ruleset.

Wargames Rules for 15th to 17th centuries (1420-1700)

I always find miniature rulesets quite dry compared to read, sounding more like a technical manual. But then a lot of what they deal with is below the level of a lot of boardgames. A counter is either dead or alive, even with step losses, for example. Whereas a unit of 24 figures has far more step losses available as well as different levels of morale. Training and equipment will often be dealt with in a boardgame by giving a counter an attack factor, whereas in tabletop it will be covered by training, morale, armour, equipment and so on, all of which may vary substantially within an army.

I'm on my third reading. Almost braved an intro scenario play after the 2nd read thru, but had to pack it up. I must say the more I times I read, the simpler it appears. 2nd Fleet - you will be played!

I'm in the process of culling games from my collection and it is Doom: The Boardgame turn to see if it will stay or go. I played this when I first bought it quite a few years ago but I have forgotten completely how to play. I don't remember it being too difficult so this should be accomplished in a day.

In keeping with our ongoing campaign game of Three Days of Gettysburg (third edition) I finally printed out a rulebook (Thanks GMT Games!) so I could keep abreast of the rules and BGG user silentwarrior doesn't have to do so much hand holding with me during our games.

I'm not sure what it is with this game but I have other Richard H. Berg games, with none of them being what I would call "easy", but the command system in this one is tough for me to grasp. I would compare this game in complexity to Great Battles of History but I grasp the command in GBOH much better than I do in 3 Days. Not sure if it is the era or what but it is what it is.

In semi-rotation for reading or re-reading at the moment are Advanced Squad Leader (as always), FAB: The Bulge, Men of Iron (which went in my bad pile for a while), Chariots of Fire (I haven't played a GBOH game in a while).
