So, I know that Jamey included some really neat containers, but I always like building my own storage solution.
Heh...start with the basic box...

Take off the cover, and reveal the first layer.
It's a section that lifts out and contains all of the pieces for each faction.

To the right, you see that I have sections that hold each of the card types. The sections lift out just for access. The idea is that I have a spot to hold all of the cards. When I remove them, the box just has the sections for the board pieces.

So, after set up is complete, I just need the section that contains the resources and the money. It's separate so I can use it during the game.

My basic philosophy is to store all of the components in a way that makes setup easier, but also has the components that I need during the game all readily accessible.

Nice. So insert built, and minis painted while many of us are still waiting for ours to leave the warehouse. That's jumping on it!

Thanks, but we'll see. I love to paint my miniatures, but they are very very crude compared to some of those who post here. I'm pretty simplistic.

Would you mind posting some dimensions for your insert trays? I would like to mimic something like that when I receive my copy.

The little tray is 7" x 7" and is 1 1/4" high.

It fits in next to the faction cards, leaving room for the combat wheels on the left.

Thanks. Did you make your own plans before you started or just wing it? I would be interested if you were to post the full specs.

No plans, I just test fit and wing it as I go along.

That's great, Bruce! I've been thinking about making an insert for Scythe myself, and you managed to design one that does everything one could wish and still shouldn't be too difficult to make (not after doing one for Caverna last year...)

Hard to make room for what does not yet exist. whistle Foam core is cheap and easy enough to work with...IF I get the expansion, then I'll think about rebuilding a layer.

You can estimate. 2 character minis, 8 mech minis, 2 more piles of meeples, 2 faction mats, 2 (3?) player mats. Two new denominations of money IIRC.

Well there's certainly room, but it will require a bit of rework. I'll consider it later; in the meantime, this really facilitates set up.

I made something similar to yours. Not very good in making storage but here it is.

My idea is to store all the cards and components into one box. Easy excess to resources.
