I've read the rulebook, are ruins
now super dangerous ramdom tokens you commit to fighting now?
They were revealed during the day before.

Yes.

Per the Game Walkthrough rulebook, pg 16, after choosing to encounter a Class-H Planet:

"When this happens, you must draw the depicted tokens, place them face up on the table, and then fight them."

I didn't like this aspect of the game. Two friends and I played the Full Cooperative scenario today and none of us even attempted one Class H.

They seem to be not worth the risk and on the default difficulty they aren't that important.

I don't think I risked Class H planets until the second half of my Full Cooperative scenarios, but at that point I was built up enough so that whatever I faced was pretty easy to defeat.
