The burger machines typically require 1-2 very low skill support humans (basically change bins of veggies and stacks of meat). The cost of adding that automation is still too high but no reason a robot couldn't load the bins from factory pre-packaged bins in a storage area.

But this is headed our way.

Considering the low profit margin and general inexperience of most fast food owners anything that bumps up up front costs (IE loans) and complexity in oversight is going to be a problem.
