We have quite a few excellent portable small games (e.g. Star Realms), but I long for something deeper with 40-60 min play time, but which would be very portable and have a small footprint.

Ideally just a pile of cards with no fiddly bits.

Targi is good (also length wise), but has all the chits and pieces. Also something slightly heavier would be good.

Caylus Magna Carta looks good, but has a ton of chits and stuff too.
Troyes takes up a lot of space?

Oh My Goods! maybe?

Mottainai looks intriguing, but is not available where I live.

Mottainai. Has some really interesting card interactions that are challenging on the grey matter.

FWIW I absolutely hated Mottainai.

Race for the Galaxy comes to mind. Maybe takes up too much space.

I've been thinking about it (recent rahdo video reminded it to me). We played it online, but felt insanely swingy... I understand that with repeated play it should be better.

Multiuniversum?
Excellent theme, though likely not easily available....

Harbour?

Fleet or Fleet Wharfside?

Boy is fishing/boat theme not our cup of tea. But Harbor, actually looks cute, will investigate! Thanks!

Morels

And Troyes is definitely NOT just a cardgame...surprise (...and takes up quite a lot of space...)

I could be wrong but I don't think harbour is medium/heavy.

You know, blanket statements without any sort of reasoning or comparisons are pretty useless.

Morels is a great game, but don't really think it fits the criteria of medium/heavy. Not to nitpick - just to offer my two cents for the OP's eventual decision.

Harbour is as medium weight as card games come.

Innovation is very swingy and luck-prone at higher player counts. But it's very tactical with two.

Arboretum is often described as a light game, but I think it's closer to medium weight for experienced players due to the bluffing and deduction aspects. It plays closer to 30 min though.

Haggis is a very thinky card game that plays in a series of short rounds, with an arbitrarily set VP goal, so could go on for an hour if you want.

It's a shame that OddVille is OOP. We received a used copy just this weekend and discovered it is a delightful mediumish weight thinky puzzler disguised as a filler. It normally plays in about 15-20 min, but I'm thinking about ways of extending the gameplay.

Dungeon Twister: The Card Game is nothing but cards, medium heavy, plays in about 45 minutes once you know what you are doing.

Maybe Glory to Rome.

Epic Card Game is usually shorter than 30 minutes, but it certainly has a lot of depth and replayability, especially once you start drafting.

Yes exactly - we have it and enjoy it, but now looking for something heavier.
