That involved the lucky draw of Distant World as settle rebate

Surprisingly, sharing the prestige lead appears to have been a better strategy than stealing it: consuming a PP for 3 cards in Round 5 leads to a much clearer victory (67-49).

The most difficult choice in the game was Round 3. Even with PGA and Investment Credits in play, I did not expect the AI to call a build phase, given that they only had 1 card in hand. I was (somewhat vaguely) planning to play Merchant World and then trade, but the addition of a Dev phase made the choice much more difficult. In the end, getting out two cards (one of them excellent--TE) seemed better than getting out only one. Replays have confirmed that this was the best choice, although a prestige settle there would also have worked.

One more quick note: knowing that this would be a tough game made me want to avoid producing on turn 1, since Search-Settle by the AI into Ravaged Uplift World would be brutal. But (thankfully) I shoved that information to the side and stuck with my standard call (given that hand and opponent home world).

I wish the color formatting would be retained when you copy and pasted the game log (assuming that was enabled for this game). I'm always on the prowl for simpler scripting projects, so decided to write one that'll put the color back in when viewing it on BGG. Should make it easier to follow....

It's not exactly straightforward.. You need to download the XSLT style sheet to your computer (close to your save files), then set the path to the style sheet in your export options. After exporting a game, view the resulting XML file in a modern browser. Then copy the log text to a BGG post. Feel free to reuse the XSLT file if you anyone wants to automate the process.

I lost 50 to 37.

Even managed to get Rebel Stronghold in play and get most prestige before the end, but it just wasn't enough.

Biggest difference from Rainstar is that I didn't vie for Prestige lead, instead doing a boring "wait until Diversified Economy matures" strategy, which ends up paying off when Alien Toy Shop and Galactic Federation show up (which I think is mostly due to me giving up my one Prestige for three cards).
