French retailer Ludik Bazaar are selling pallets of 264 discounted games for €600 Euros. That's about €2.30 a game.

https://www.ludikbazar.com/product/127193/giga-lot-de-jeux-a...

Not sure exactly what you get and they are likely to be French Editions but games pictured in the example photo include
Bombay, Arctic Scavengers, Rex: Final Days of an Empire, Québec, A Runebound Expansion, A Game of Thrones: The Card Game and a bunch of expansions for it.

What else can you spot?

Looks interesting. I am guessing the picture is just an example of what you might get.

Lots of LCG expansions and a big pile of RPG books as well.

€150 euro delivery out side of France though.

My tactic would be to start a significant building project on the house - like an extension or garden landscaping. Then get the delivery scheduled on the same day and the builder merchant. As long as it not obvious from a distance you're safe.

Granted that does increase the price of this deal by at least £5000 but.. a deals a deal!

Send your wife on a trip with her girlfriends to Paris or something. Might be cheaper in the end...

Instead of paying 750 € for 264 games that are most likely not that good, I can just spend that amount of money for 15 great games...

At a first glance, this package is based on the previous discount event last month where several French shops have offered a more or less comparable basket of hundreds of board games. I have spent a significant amount of time to identify the range and quality of the offers as well as the language versions.

In a nutshell, a lot of games are French language only (even in case international versions exist) and due to card content etc. even online available English language manuals (which do not always exist) won't help much. From a quality point of view, a significant amount of offers had a 6 or less BGG rating.

Additionally, there are a lot of extensions or add-ons available without the base game - again, not really useful unless you specifically search for a specific item. There have also been a lot of bits and pieces, i.e., figures, from more or less popular tabletop games in the basket (again without any base set).

Purely subjectively and after research of tons of sale lists, I have still been able to find items of interest from two sellers in the area of 200 bucks total, but that is much less than this price tag. So unless you are a French native with a huge appetite (and room) for surprise packages, you have been warned... whistle

If you are going to send the wife to Paris, she might as well pick the pallet up for you and bring it home for the cost of a hire van, thus saving the delivery costs as well

I'm sure there is a flaw in the plan somewhere but i'm struggling to spot it.....

Somehow that might make the first idea of this post harder... Maybe we can ask them to wrap the games in shoe boxes. She'll certainly won't expect anything!

Ah good call - just had a read, didn't realise the differences were so significant. Glad I didn't go for it now... saying that, for someone on a tight budget, it's still good for a tenner (just because there's a better second ed does't mean the first becomes less of a game)

A good game that'll I'll enjoy! Rex at that price even in French is worth it even just to use for spare parts.
