hi all,

are there any mobile development studios that specialize in turning indie board games into mobile apps or adding companion apps? if not is there any reason why not?

Yes there are a couple. Names don't come to mind but the one that did Summoner Wars has done a few. I suggest looking at the publishers of apps on the Google/Apple store and see how many they have done.

Most of those places are likely also booked solid for a year or more due to the complexity of developing apps (moreso if the AI needs any kind of unusual intelligence logic), and I suspect a fair number of small publishers are not yet able to pay off the preliminary development costs yet without being deep in debt.
