Creative Differences: A Game Dev Story
The videogame industry is pretty cut throat. Industrial espionage is widespread! Not to mention dealing with incompetent staff and bugs in your code. It’s a miracle that any game gets made!
Creative Differences – a brand new design from Simon Platt and Neat Mess Games – thrusts you into the seat of a small game development studio where you hire staff, help them develop ideas, then capture the magic to get those ideas into the game.
After one player has a completed (or at least a releasable) design, all other players have a last ditch chance to make their game presentable – and the designer of the most successful game will be the winner!
The game uses multi-use cards – creating tough decisions as to whether to spend the card for money, recruit them as an employee, or use it for its special power which might help you, or cripple your opponents.
Creative Differences is a quick (15-20 minute) interactive card game with tonnes of theme and player interaction. Best of all, you can (if you wish) utilise a free app to help with scoring and present a detailed description of your game in terms of theme and mechanics.
Will you create a ‘Triple-A’ awesome space opera about global domination? Will it be a unicycle simulator? Or will you be the first to build a cool platformer about a duck trying to find a matching pair of socks?
The only way to find out it to back Creative Differences: A Game Dev Story on Kickstarter today!
