Was wondering if anyone had a preference on rulesets when comparing Title Recall to Monikers.
There are a few differences but here are the key ones I found.
1. In Title Recall there are teams of 2, while in Monikers there are just 2 teams total.
2. In Title Recall you can't pass in round 1, and in round 2 + 3 you only have 1 guess while in Monikers you have unlimited guesses.
I think I prefer the idea of having 2 teams total, but it seems like it could interfere with the whole "1 guess in rounds 2/3" rule.
What has people's experiences been?
I've never played Monikers. But I will answer anyway :)
I have played Times UP with 2 teams. My main complaint with that is that with more than, say, 3 players on a team, sometimes it's tough to hear guesses. The opposing team sometimes has to help listen for answers. While that does add a certain level of challenge, I personally find it less fun.
I don't think we had a problem with it colliding with the 'one guess' rule (though it certainly did sometimes.)
If we have a bunch of people playing TU, we usually do make the teams 3 people.
I like one guess in rounds 2 and 3 because it keeps the game going, and as the opposing team, I love that "D'oh, it was the OTHER word I was thinking!" reaction.
Additional unsolicited opinion - I also much prefer Title Recall to People's Names versions. I think titles give a lot more flexibility and are less likely to require knowledge of the name.
