Out of town for a conference most of the week...

Monday
1x - Bora Bora - mb

Wednesday
1x - Arboretum - mb

We had planned a game night with friends while at the conference during the pre-teen/teen mixer but it ended up being more of a college reunion and games never made it out of our bag.

meeple Keep playing...

Due to a series of fortunate and unfortunate events, I basically got to spend my whole past week board gaming. The majority were 2-player games, but we also got in some 4-player ones. I won a fair portion of them, as well

My son was born last Friday so I was only able to find time for 2 games of Onirim this week. I need him to grow up fast so he can play games with Daddy.

On Wednesday, my girlfriend was finally finished with her exam stuff, so we got to play games again
One play of Keyflower, in which I won by my best score so far (91pts) by getting the 'gold is worth 2VP' and 'equal skills are worth 3VP' tiles in winter and getting 24VP for both of them
After that a quick hand of Schotten Totten, just because we had some time left.
On Thursday, it turned out that she actually did have one more assignment to do. So I looked into the 1 player guild. I printed and played two games of K-Day: Kaiju War!, which I both lost. And I printed and played Murderer's Row, which I won
On Saturday, my copy of Tiny Epic Galaxies arrived. GF wasn't in the mood, so I played it solo twice. Messed up the rules a bit the first time (giving the AI only one energy/culture while it had four ships on its home base), so I reset and played again. Still won, but not by a lot.
On Sunday, I was up before the GF, so I played Austerity solo. Won without too much trouble, so it might be time to raise the difficulty a bit. Later we played Tiny Epic Galaxies together. Since it was a learning game for her, I won again. But not by an awful lot, so she'll probably be kicking my behind soon

"I wish it need not have happened in my time," said Frodo. "So do I," said Gandalf, "and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us."

One new one this week: 07/04/16 - 07/10/16

Went to play our bi-weekly RPG session. Only half the party showed up so we pulled out a copy of Kings & Things that none of us had ever played.

So we read the rules, set up the game and the 4 of us played it. Thought it was a fun evening.

Wednesday 6th

Shitenno
Trains with Trains: Rising Sun and Trains: Nagoya Map.
7 Wonders with 7 Wonders: Babel

Friday 8th

Village
Sushi Go!

Sunday 10th

Love Letter
The Pillars of the Earth: Builders Duel
Triumvirate
Madame Ching
Res Publica: 2230AD
Escalation!
Sushi Go!

The Good: I didn't enjoy The Pillars of the Earth: Builders Duel the first couple of plays but really enjoyed it this week. A lovely two player game, although still not a huge fan of the flipping tokens part. Also really enjoyed 7 Wonders: Babel which added an interesting twist which required some timing and changing strategy.

Thursday - Open game night at Petrie's Family Games
Above and Below - one of my favorite story games, always fun
Tigris & Euphrates - first time playing, genius mechanics, no theme whatsoever

Friday
Scythe - received it that day and got in a solo play

Saturday - Meetup.com group at Gold Camp Brewery
Blood Rage - always great to get in a play, even though I got stomped
Scythe - Yes, I played this and Blood Rage in the same day...without posting either on Facebook

Sunday
Scythe - Went to Petrie's for sleeves and got in a 2-player game with my friend running the register
