I'm struggling with this rule... I think it's optional but I'm trying to learn the game and this is the only one I'm struggling to understand...

From the 'No king of hearts' contract.

"Israeli Rules: player holding Heart King may try to maximise his score, but may not discriminate between opponents with whom he has equal business."

I assume the 'equal business' part is, if you and both opponents have the same no double, double or re-double going on. I'm not sure what the 'may not discriminate' part means though.

Could someone flesh this one out for me please...

It's supposed to mean that if you have the opportunity to give the heart king to one opponent that you can't hold onto it to try to give it to a different opponent (unless you are doubled with the other opponent).

I wouldn't play with such a rule myself.

That rule makes more sense when you are playing for money, not for first place.
