I'm mainly interested in more strategic gamer-games, as I have a couple of lighter games that fit the bill in my collection. Although, I'm also happy to hear about excellent party-type games.

Games in my collection that (allegedly) go up to/beyond six players are:
Codenames
Coup
Eldritch Horror
King of Tokyo
Libertalia
RoboRally
Tsuro
Zombies!!!

Fire away!

Incan Gold for sure. Pit for a quick and intense game. Citadels obviously, but only up to 7. Saboteur because it's awesome. Democrazy 'cause it's fun. And Wink, in the same vein. Oh, and I forgot Brick party, a great amount of fun. Ca$h 'n Guns, great too. And finally maybe Fearsome Floors, though it's a bit longer.

Citadels plays 8 as long as it includes the dark city expansion (I think all recent English editions do). I've played it with 6 players - if playing with 6-8p I'd strongly recommend playing to 7 districts (and official variant), making sure you include cheaper purple districts, and using the Witch & Diplomat instead of Assassin & Warlord (Witch because both Witch & her target get to collect money/cards, Diplomat because he keeps districts in the game rather than destroying them). I think Citadels is probably best with 4-6 players.

If I wanted to play a game with more than 6 or more people it would be one of the following (or Citadels):

Bohnanza - up to 7 - trading
FlowerFall - up to 7 - dropping cards onto a table, suprisingly good
The Resistance - 5-10p
Indian Chief up to 8 - innovative playing card game (2 decks + pencil & paper for scoring)

I've also played Hare & Tortoise and Race for the Galaxy (with expansions) with 6 but both are max 6p and better with fewer players.

Some great choices I don't see anyone recommend yet:

Caverna: The Cave Farmers - I've played it with 7 and there's not as much down time as many people say.
Viticulture Essential Edition
Keyflower
Jamaica - light race game with great art and is most fun with 6

Oh, and Lords of Waterdeep with the expansion, Lords of Waterdeep: Scoundrels of Skullport.

Power Grid plays 6 well. Some of the map expansions for Steam hit 6 as well.

Not sure if it meets your criteria, but Formula D goes up to 10 players.

+1 Citadels
Shadow Hunters is a great traitor type game that plays up to 8. It plays similar to werewolf but a lot more structure and depth to it.

Seconded. The game really hits its stride with 5 or more players, and the fact that there are a couple different modes of play - one being more basic with a general "car damage", and another with damage/wear to the individual components - makes it very accessible.

No problem. I use that geeklist, and the previous 2015 one, all the time.

I did not realize the 2016 edition was there already. Thanks for the tip
